Four youths from Uttarakhand were killed and one was seriously injured in a tragic road accident in the Mundhapande area of Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh. The incident has left the victims’ families and local residents in deep shock.
As soon as the police received information about the accident, the Mundhapande police station team reached the spot and, with the help of local residents, rescued the youths trapped inside the car. All of them were immediately taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Mundhapande.
SHO Mohit Kumar of Mundhapande police station said that the preliminary investigation revealed that all five youths in the car were residents of Nainital and Haldwani in Uttarakhand. Their car collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with bricks near Mankara turn.
According to CHC Mundhapande Medical Officer Dr. Isha Singh, four of the five youths brought to the hospital were declared dead by doctors. One seriously injured युवक was given primary treatment and later referred to the Moradabad District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the accident may have occurred because the car driver dozed off while driving. Due to the brief sleep, the car went out of control and rammed into the tractor-trolley moving ahead.
Police identified the deceased as Anil Negi, Sunder Singh, Bhuvan Bhandari and Dayal Singh, all residents of Haldwani. The injured youth has been identified as Yashdeep Pandey, whose condition is said to be critical.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. He also directed officials to ensure prompt relief and assistance.
