New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has busted a major underworld network, arresting gangster Mahfooz alias Bobby Kabootar along with his girlfriend Khushnuma Ansari alias Neha, an active member of the gang linked to Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba. Neha, known in criminal circles as “Madam Zehar,” was allegedly running a beauty parlour in northeast Delhi as a front for drug trafficking and illegal arms supply.
Beauty Parlour Used as Front for Crime
Investigations revealed that Neha, a beautician by profession, managed drug distribution and weapons logistics for the gang while operating a beauty parlour. She was arrested near the Mahipalpur flyover with a consignment of drugs.
Strong Underworld Links
Neha is the girlfriend of Mahfooz alias Bobby Kabootar, an alleged arms supplier associated with the Bishnoi gang. The two had reportedly been in a relationship for seven years. Police say Bobby conducted reconnaissance before the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and provided information about the singer’s movements and routes.
Arrest Triggered by Shopping Trip
According to police, Bobby had been hiding in Delhi’s Seelampur area for years and rarely stepped out. He was finally tracked when he took Neha to Gurugram for shopping. The Special Cell intercepted their vehicle while they were returning to Delhi and arrested all four occupants.
Wanted in Multiple Cases
Police sources said Bobby was also wanted in the firing case at the Bareilly residence of actress Disha Patani, where he allegedly supplied weapons to shooters. He had been on the run for nearly seven years, frequently changing identities and locations to evade arrest.
He is also accused in multiple serious crimes, including double murder cases in Delhi and other gang-related killings. Investigators believe he worked for northeast Delhi gangster Hashim Baba, who in turn is linked to the Bishnoi syndicate.
Role in Moosewala Murder
Officials stated that Bobby gathered intelligence on Moosewala’s movement and passed it on to attackers. The Punjabi singer was shot dead in broad daylight on May 29, 2022. Bobby was reportedly arrested after months of technical surveillance and intelligence inputs.
Police are currently interrogating the accused to uncover further details about the network and its operations.
