Pramendra Singh Dobal on Saturday assumed charge as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Dehradun. After taking over, he outlined his key priorities, placing strong emphasis on women’s safety, strengthening law and order, and improving the city’s traffic management.
Addressing the media, the new SSP said focused and concrete steps would be taken to enhance women’s security and ensure a more robust policing framework across the district. He also identified traffic congestion as a major concern and indicated that targeted measures would soon be introduced to streamline traffic flow and reduce chaos on city roads.
Dobal stressed the importance of boosting the morale of police personnel, stating that improving efficiency and operational capacity within the force would remain a major focus. He underlined the role of teamwork and discipline in delivering effective policing.
He also issued a stern warning against attempts to disturb communal harmony. Reiterating a zero-tolerance approach, Dobal said strict legal action would be taken against individuals trying to incite social or religious discord.
With the new SSP taking charge, expectations are high for tighter policing and visible improvements in law enforcement and public safety across the district
