Uttarakhand Police has launched a statewide verification drive to strengthen law and order. Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Deepam Seth, the campaign will be carried out across all districts down to the police station level.
Residents of apartments, rented houses, PGs, hotels, ashrams and homestays will be verified, and action will be taken against illegal tenancy without police verification. Property dealers and brokers will also be under scrutiny.
Special focus will be on delivery agents, security staff, cab drivers and workers in industrial areas. Authorities will also identify and act against illegal foreign nationals and infiltrators.
District police, STF, SOG and intelligence units will jointly run the drive. The DGP said the primary aim is to ensure safety of women, senior citizens and the general public.
