On the auspicious occasion of Holi, the police administration remained fully alert across the Garhwal range to ensure peace, safety, and law and order. To guarantee public security and curb miscreants, Rajiv Swarup personally took charge and conducted surprise inspections in various sensitive areas.
The IG reviewed security arrangements in Dehradun and other key towns and cities of the region. During the inspection, he issued necessary instructions to police personnel deployed at markets, intersections, and crowded places. He made it clear that any attempt to create disturbance under the guise of celebration — including drunken driving, harassment, or forcefully applying colors — would not be tolerated.
Additional police forces were deployed at sensitive locations, and checking drives were carried out on major roads. Surveillance was strengthened through CCTV cameras and drone monitoring. A special traffic management plan was also implemented to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the festivities.
The IG directed all station in-charges to maintain continuous patrolling in their respective jurisdictions and to remain in close coordination with local residents. Authorities also kept a close watch on social media platforms to prevent the spread of rumors and misinformation.
The police administration appealed to citizens to celebrate Holi with harmony and mutual respect. People were advised to immediately contact the nearest police station or the police control room in case of any emergency.
With stringent security arrangements in place, Holi celebrations across the Garhwal range were conducted peacefully, reinforcing a sense of safety and confidence among the public.
