Dehradun: 13Feb 2026
In a significant administrative shake-up amid concerns over rising crime, the Uttarakhand government on Friday transferred and reassigned 20 police officers across key districts and specialised wings. The move comes under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and is aimed at strengthening law and order.
According to orders issued by the home department (Section-01), the reshuffle — involving officers from the IPS and the state police service — takes immediate effect. All officers have been directed to assume charge at their new postings and report compliance through police headquarters.
Key district-level changes
Haridwar SSP Pramendra Dobal has been appointed as the new senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Dehradun. Incumbent Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh has been shifted to the Special Task Force (STF). Navneet Singh, who was serving in the STF, will take over as SSP Haridwar.
Ajay Ganpati Kumar, SP Champawat, has been posted as SSP Udham Singh Nagar. Manikant Mishra, who was heading Udham Singh Nagar as SSP, has been moved to the intelligence wing as SP.
Changes in specialised wings
In a key development, DIG Nivedita Kukreti has been elevated and posted as inspector general (IG) of SDRF. Prahlad Narayan Meena, SSP vigilance headquarters, has been appointed DIG vigilance.
Pradeep Kumar Rai has been posted as SP, CBCID, while Amit Srivastava has been appointed commandant, IRB First, Ramnagar. ASP Manoj Thakur from CID has been transferred to Kotdwar in Pauri Garhwal, and ASP Chandramohan Singh has been made SP (regional), intelligence, Dehradun.
Officials said the extensive reshuffle is intended to bring sharper accountability and improve operational efficiency across districts, particularly in sensitive urban centres. The move is being seen as part of the state government’s broader push for result-oriented policing.
