Panic gripped the city on Friday morning after a sensational shooting incident took place at the VVIP Rajpur Road area. A young man was shot dead outside a gym located inside Silver City Mall.
The deceased has been identified as Vikram Sharma. According to eyewitnesses, the victim had just stepped out of the gym when an unidentified assailant opened fire at him. The sudden gunshot triggered chaos inside the mall premises, with people running for safety.
The critically injured youth was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination. The accused fled the spot soon after executing the attack.
Police teams reached the scene promptly and cordoned off the mall area to begin an investigation. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being scanned to identify the attacker. Preliminary investigation suggests possible personal enmity, though officials said all angles are being thoroughly examined.
The broad daylight murder has created an atmosphere of fear in the Rajpur Road area, raising serious concerns about security in one of the city’s most prominent locations. Police have assured that the accused will be identified and arrested soon.
