In connection with the brutal murder of a young woman in the Kotwali Nagar area, the Investigating Officer and Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Ms. Vishakha Ashok Bhadane (IPS), on Thursday conducted a detailed review of the case and inspected the crime scene.
Acting on the directions of Police Headquarters, the SP Headquarters carried out a minute inspection of the spot and closely examined all aspects related to the incident. She also met the victim’s family, patiently heard their version of events, recorded their statements, and gathered crucial information linked to the case.
Expressing deep condolences to the grieving family, Ms. Bhadane assured them that the investigation is being conducted in a completely fair, transparent, and fact-based manner. She stated that strict action would be taken against anyone found negligent or derelict in duty at any stage of the case.
Later, the SP Headquarters visited Kotwali Nagar Police Station and Khudbuda Police Outpost, where she thoroughly reviewed case records, information received by the police, and documents related to police response. She emphasized that all aspects, including the police response at the time of the incident and action taken on received information, are being carefully scrutinized.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (Crime and Law & Order), Uttarakhand, Mr. Sunil Kumar Meena, stated that Police Headquarters is closely monitoring the investigation, treating the sensitive case with the highest priority. He reiterated that women’s safety remains a top priority for the police, and no lapses will be tolerated.
