On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Veera Foundation organized a blood donation awareness seminar and felicitation ceremony at its Shimla Bypass office. Renowned voluntary blood donor Dr. Anil Verma, who has donated blood more than 155 times, was honoured with the Dr. Karl Landsteiner Blood Donation Krantiveer Award.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Verma highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation, stating that blood has no substitute and every healthy individual should donate blood regularly. He also shared that he has inspired thousands of young people to become voluntary blood donors.
Veera Foundation CEO Ritu Dobhal said that a blood donor is no less than an angel for a patient in need, as a single blood donation can save precious lives. The programme concluded with an appeal to encourage more people to join the noble cause of voluntary blood donation.
