Cabinet Minister of Uttarakhand, Subodh Uniyal, on Sunday said that the Union Budget 2026–27 is a youth-centric budget that will accelerate the process of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat while empowering the country’s young population.
Addressing the Youth Budget Conference organised by BJP Yuva Morcha Dehradun at Shri Guru Ram Rai Auditorium in Patel Nagar, Uniyal said the budget places special emphasis on employment generation, skill development and promotion of startups.
He stated that an allocation of over ₹8,000 crore has been made for skill development and training programmes, with a target to provide training to nearly one million youth in the coming years. He added that the expansion of schemes such as Mudra and the introduction of special funds for startups and innovation will lead to the establishment of thousands of new enterprises, creating large-scale employment opportunities.
Uniyal further said that increased investment in sectors such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence, green energy and infrastructure will open new avenues for the youth. “This budget will make young people self-reliant and strengthen their role in nation-building,” he said.
The minister noted that the budget, presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been designed with a holistic approach, keeping in mind the development of villages, the poor, farmers, women and youth, and will reinforce India’s resolve to become a developed nation.
The event was attended by MLA Savita Harbans Kapoor, BJP State Minister Aditya Chauhan, Dehradun Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, along with party office-bearers, Yuva Morcha workers and a large number of youth
