: The two men arrested for the broad daylight murder of a gas agency owner at the busy Tibetan Market are not professional sharp shooters but auto-rickshaw drivers and real brothers, police sources said on Thursday. The accused are residents of Chukku Mohalla in Dehradun.
According to preliminary information, the हत्या was allegedly carried out over a minor financial dispute. The shocking incident took place under the Dalanwala police station limits on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses said the two accused arrived at the crowded market on a scooter and opened fire at the gas agency owner. The victim died on the spot. The assailants fled immediately after the shooting, leaving shoppers and traders in panic. The entire incident unfolded within seconds.
Police rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and brought the situation under control. The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
During the investigation, police scanned CCTV footage from nearby cameras and launched intensive checking at major checkpoints across the city. The two accused were later arrested following a brief encounter, and weapons used in the crime were recovered from them.
Police officials said the arrested men are not professional killers but auto drivers. They are currently being interrogated, and further investigation is underway to ascertain all aspects of the case
