MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, successfully hosted the HR Conclave 2026, bringing together more than 20 leading organisations and senior HR leaders for a strategic dialogue on employability and workforce readiness in India’s evolving job market.
The national-level conclave centred on the theme “Skilling the Next Generation: Expectations vs. Reality”, aiming to address the widening gap between graduate capabilities and industry expectations.
Senior HR professionals, industry practitioners and academic experts deliberated on key topics such as “Plug-and-Play or Train-and-Transform? — HR Perspectives on New-Generation Talent” and “Employability vs. Work Readiness: Where Education Ends and Industry Begins.”
Representatives from reputed national and international firms participated in panel discussions, sharing insights on how education systems must evolve to meet the needs of the modern workplace.
Speakers emphasised holistic talent development, integrating physical and mental well-being with professional skills to ensure sustained performance and workplace satisfaction. Discussions also explored the impact of AI on HR practices and the importance of internships, live projects, apprenticeships and mentor-led learning to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The conclave concluded with a reaffirmed commitment from both industry and academia to collaborate in crafting frameworks that ensure graduates are not just degree holders but are also ready to contribute effectively from day one of employment.
