Fake Land Deal Exposed in Dehradun, FIR Filed on DM’s Orders

Dehradun:(RNS). 24 FEB 2026

In a major crackdown on illegal land transactions, the district administration has registered an FIR in a case involving the sale of court-restricted land using forged documents. Acting on the directions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, police have booked both the buyer and the seller under serious charges.
According to officials, the मामला involves land in Mouza Aamwala Tarla, where survey plots 94Kha, 134, 135 and 136 were reportedly sold despite an existing court ban on any sale or transfer. The fraud came to light after objections were raised against registry deeds numbered 8614/2025 and 8615/2025.
Preliminary investigation revealed that forged documents were allegedly used to conceal the true status of the land. The property is believed to be linked to assets under restriction related to PACL and possibly Golden Forest-linked holdings, both categories known for legal disputes and sale prohibitions.
Following the DM’s orders, the Registrar Dehradun and SDM Sadar have been directed to conduct a fresh verification of the deeds. Authorities have also been instructed to cancel any mutation entries (dakhil-kharij) carried out on the basis of the disputed registries.
An FIR has been registered under provisions of the Registration Act, 1908, including charges related to fraudulent registration. The role of the Sub-Registrar’s office is also under scrutiny, and administrative action is likely.
Officials said the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance approach toward land mafia and external builders targeting restricted or government land. The DM made it clear that any violation of court orders or land deals executed through forged documents will invite strict legal action
