The Uttarakhand government may present the state budget on the very first day of the upcoming Assembly session to be held at the summer capital, Gairsain. The Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued a provisional schedule for the five-day session, which will be held from March 9 to 13 at the Assembly complex in Bhararisain.
The session will begin with the Governor’s address. On the same day, the government is likely to table the Appropriation Bill and present the budget for the financial year 2026–27. Preparations are currently underway in Bhararisain for the session. The provisional programme, prepared by the legislative department, has been circulated to all MLAs by the Assembly Secretariat.
As per the tentative schedule:
March 9: Governor’s address followed by presentation of the state budget.
March 10: Discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address and tabling of ordinances.
March 11: Passage of the motion of thanks and beginning of budget discussions.
March 12: Department-wise discussion on budget allocations.
March 13: Passage of bills.
However, the schedule is provisional. The final agenda for the session will be decided in the Business Advisory Committee meeting.
