Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence to review the law and order situation in the state. He made it clear that there would be no compromise on maintaining law and order and directed officials to ensure strict and result-oriented action against criminals.
The Chief Minister instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) to ensure that FIRs are registered promptly in all criminal cases and that strong and effective action is taken against offenders without delay. He emphasized the need for strict monitoring of habitual and organized criminals and called for stringent legal action against such elements to instill a sense of security among the public.
CM Dhami directed the police to function with greater alertness, accountability, and efficiency. He stressed the need to further strengthen the functioning of police stations and outposts and to increase patrolling and surveillance in sensitive areas. Special drives were also ordered in urban areas to streamline traffic management and strengthen security arrangements.
The Chief Minister stated that no one taking the law into their own hands or attempting to disturb peace in the state would be spared. He conveyed a clear message to officials that visible results must be delivered on the ground and that citizens should feel safe and secure.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to an “Crime-Free Uttarakhand,” CM Dhami said peace, security, and good governance remain the state’s top priorities. Ensuring the safety of citizens is the government’s responsibility, and negligence at any level will not be tolerated.
He also directed officials to conduct regular reviews of law and order matters and fix accountability at every level to further strengthen the rule of law in the state.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, DGP, Home Secretary, ADGP (Law and Order), Garhwal Commissioner, and other senior police and administrative officials
