Ramnagar: 25 APRIL 2026
The Uttarakhand Board Examination 2026 results have highlighted the outstanding performance of students from the Kumaon region, with girls leading the merit list and bringing pride to their districts.
From Saraswati Shishu Mandir Inter College, Chauraasi in Nainital district, Geetika Pant secured a joint first position in the Intermediate (Class 12) examination with 98% marks (492 out of 500). She had earlier topped her district in High School (Class 10) with 97% and secured the 10th rank in the state.
Geetika’s father, Chandrashekhar Pant, is a taxi driver, while her mother, Ritika Pant, is a homemaker. Despite limited resources, she scored exceptionally well: Hindi (99), Mathematics (98), Physics (99), Chemistry (94), and English (100). She credited her success to her parents, grandparents, and teachers.
Meanwhile, Akshat Gopal from Lakhanpur, Ramnagar, scored 491 out of 500 in the High School examination, securing a top position in the state. He studied 4–5 hours daily without any private tuition. He emphasized focusing more on Hindi and English, which he found comparatively challenging. Akshat aspires to become an engineer.
In another remarkable achievement, Bhoomika, a student of G.B. Pant GIC Inter College, Khairna (Betalghat block, Nainital), secured the third position in the state in High School with 98% (490 marks). Coming from a remote area, she dedicated around seven hours daily to her studies and credited her teachers and family for their support. She also aims to become an engineer.
From Udham Singh Nagar, Sushila Mehendiratta, a student of Bhanjuram Amar Inter College, Bhooraraani, topped the Intermediate examination with 490 marks. She described herself as a “night owl,” preferring to study late at night when the environment is calm and concentration is better. She believes that studying under pressure does not lead to success. This year’s Uttarakhand Board results clearly demonstrate the academic excellence of Kumaon region students, especially girls, proving that dedication, discipline, and proper guidance can lead to remarkable success even in challenging circumstances.
